Aww Snap!!! Get ready for the 1st ever ROCK BAND COMPETITION!

Sign up now! Entry is $10 per team. (Each team will be composed of 4 people so that’s $2.50/person.)
To sign up please send an email to Kevin Guarnes kevinguarnes@gmail.com, with “ROCK BAND COMP” in the Subject and the following in the email:
Rock Band Competition will be played from 12-3pm (During the other competitions).
Rules and Regulations:
- teams will be composed of 4 people: guitar, bass, drums, lead singer
- if there’s an odd number of teams, 1 team will get a BYE [team
getting a bye will be decided by picking numbers]
beginning rounds rules:
- teams will play a 1 round elimination game
- 2 bands will play a pre-decided song simultaneously
- the band with the highest score moves on to the next round
quarter finals [top 8]:
- teams will get to play 2 pre-decided songs
- the scores from their two songs will be added up and the team with
the highest added up score wins
semi finals [top 4]:
- teams will play in a “best out of 3″ format
- the team with the highest score on a song will get 1 point
- the team with 2 points moves on to the finals
- the bands will play pre-decided songs
finals [top 2]
- teams will get to pick their own playlist of 5 or 3 songs [depending on time]
- the score from the songs will be added up and the highest score will
be the rock band champion

• Shepherd’s Voice: Chosen to lead and tend the sheep, we strive to hear the word of our God in order to guide in His direction with strength and wisdom. “We will stand and shepherd his flock with the strength of the Lord.”
• The Transformers: We are called to be the new generation full of hope. As the heroic Autobot transformers, we’re ready to take a stand and make a change! (As we face all evil Decepticons we will fight for His eternal glory and proclaim His victory!)
• Only For The Brave: Do you dare? How far will you go? Are you brave enough to broaden your horizons? Ready to face and conquer for Him, we strive to open our minds as our weapon to defeat the battle.
• Having The Heart:“To love the Lord your God is to serve him with all your heart.” Do you have what it takes? With purpose and love, we aim to use the center of our well being with purpose using our hearts.
• Pathfinders: As we continue to walk along through this journey with Christ, our goal is to remain along His pathway of righteousness. Focused, determined, and willing to follow Him and His plan, He shall set us free.
• All In This Together: “…And it shows when we stand, hand in hand, make HIS dreams come true!” Together as CFC Youth for Christ FFL, we will stand firm with our community, strive to understand His purpose for us, and unite ourselves as true youth for Christ under His name.
Workshop Descriptions
• ROAD TO GLORY – Worship workshop: Worship – We have one at every meeting. It’s something everyone looks forward to, but exactly why do we do it? Why do we sing and dance as fools for Christ? Gain a deeper understanding of worship in order to truly reach glory level.
• THE CULTURE OF LIFE – pro-life: – Pro-life…that just means being against abortion right? Nope. Contrary to common belief, pro-life is so much more than just saving unborn babies. It is about defending the sacredness and purity of life. Learn more about the movement and how you can become more involved!
• WHAT’S YOUR BODY LANGUAGE – Theology of the Body workshop: Love between a man and a woman? Why has God made us this way?
• TGIF (THANK GOD I HAVE A FAMILY) – family relations workshop: – Having trouble with relating or communicating to the members of your family? Guess what? You’re not alone! Come to this workshop to discuss with other youth about problems within the family and what you can do to evangelize and bring unity to your family.
• A SERVANT’S HEART: – We are all called to be role models and servants in the community, but it’s not always easy. This workshop will allow you to discuss the joys and hardships of service while at the same time, learning the true meaning of a servant-leader’s heart.
• MORE THAN WORDS – creative evangelization: Has it been hard telling people about the community? Do they need more than camp forms for persuasion? Come to this workshop to share ideas with other areas for more creative evangelization!
• BUILDING OUR FOUNDATION – Catholic workshop: “In the name of Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.” Did you know that this is a prayer in itself? If not, come to this workshop, ask questions, get answers, and learn the basics of our faith!

4 DAYS LEFT! WHAT?!

- Bring a hoodie or two, Seattle’s kinda chilly at night!
- Check out and download the CFC Youth Conference Guidelines
- Fill out the competition rosters if you haven’t done so already (more info on the last post)
- Go to confession if you can before you leave.
- Give it one last try - call up that friend of yours who said they couldn’t go…you never know, a miracle can happen in 4 days!
- Practice your “RockBand” the video game skilz. (You’ll see why!)
- Say a Hail Mary for the service team!
- Don’t anticipate, just participate…and get ready for the most amazing JOYRIDE of our lives!
